Maldon celebrates winter each year with the Maldon in Winter festival which runs from Saturday 22nd June through to 20th July 2019.

Maldon in Winter is the perfect time to visit the historic township with plenty of interesting events running throughout the month.

Special events are held that you can enjoy in our beautiful township during the coldest time of the year.

The School Holidays will also feature events, so make sure you head to Maldon for a day trip or a short stay to enjoy what the town has to offer.

Walk around Maldon and check out the historic streetscape, explore the goldfields, head up to Mount Tarrengower for breathtaking views from the observation tower and if you’re lucky watch hang gliders leap from the Mount and fly around and below.

Here is the full programme of events to help you plan what you’d like to do during the festival.

Ongoing through late June to late July

Shop Window Displays: see winter themed shop window displays and winning windows judged by Citizen of the Year Mandy Webb.

Carman’s Tunnel: Every day during school holidays. 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Parkins Reef Road Maldon. Call 03 5475 2656 for more information.

Saturday 22nd June

Kangaroo Hotel: 6pm Winter Solstice Bonfire, mulled wine, wild goat, fire twirling, live music, Tarot, drumming, Burning Man, prize for best medieval outfit. Call 03 5475 2214 for more information.

Secret Venue: From 8pm til late. An invitation only music extravaganza featuring two bands and burlesque acts. Ticket holders know where to go. Refer to your ticket for contact information.

Friday 28th June

Portia & Co: 10am til 4pm ‘Australia – Our Home’ art exhibition by Maldon Primary School Children.

Saturday 29th June

Maldon Railway Station: Steam Train for kids. Departs Maldon 10.30am and 2.45pm.

Athenaeum Library: 10am til 12pm Children’s Library.

Portia & Co: 10am til 4pm ‘Australia – Our Home’ art exhibition by Maldon Primary School Children.
